Eagles rally past Wildcats

OGDEN - The Weber State University women's volleyball team found itself in a strong position early, but the Wildcats were unable to sustain it against the Eagles.
Despite 14 kills and eight digs from junior outside hitter Bethany Wray, Weber State fell 18-25, 25-13, 25-15, 25-10 to Eastern Washington on Saturday night at Swenson Gym.
The Wildcats had a negative attack percentage (-.008) and were outblocked for the second consecutive match in falling to the Eagles, who improved to 6-4 in Big Sky play and 10-9 overall. Weber State dropped to 1-9 in league, 1-21 overall.
Weber State trailed 16-12 in the first set, but scored 11 consecutive points to charge ahead 23-16 before closing out the set with a seven-point win.
Eastern Washington quickly countered in the second set, capturing the 12-point win and leveling the match at 1-1.
After trading points early, The Eagles surged ahead for the 10-point win and then closed out the set in four.
Weber State will return to action on Thursday night when it hosts rival Idaho State at 7 p.m. at Swenson Gym.
