BERKELEY, Calif. -- California shot 51 percent from the field and held Weber State to a season-low 31 percent shooting in route to a 77-57 win over the Wildcats Friday night in Berkeley.  With the loss the Wildcats fall to 6-3 on the season.

Cal never trailed in the game and jumped out to a 32-18 lead at halftime.  The Wildcats cut the lead to eight in the early minutes of the second half but the Bears were too much to handle.  Cal had 34 points in the paint, compared to just eight for the Wildcats.  California outrebounded the Wildcats 41-32.  Jorge Gutierrez led the Bears with 24 points.

The Wildcats shot a season-low 31 percent from the field, including just 17 percent in the first half.  WSU was 12-31 from three-point land.

Weber State was led by junior Scott Bamforth who posted 19 points on 6-9 shooting, including 5-9 from the three-point land.  Byron Fulton added a season-high 13 points.

Damian Lillard, the nation's leading scorer and Oakland native, had a season-low 14 points on 4-17 shooting from the field.  Lillard is now averaging 25.4 points per game.

With the loss the Wildcats fall to 6-3 on the season.  Weber State will return home to begin a four-game homestand when they host Mayville State Monday at the Dee Events Center.
