'Cats Fall 5-2 to Seattle

BOISE, Idaho -- The Weber State women's tennis team opened up play against Seattle with a 1-0 lead after taking the doubles point on Friday, but could not keep pace in singles, falling 5-2 to the Redhawks at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center.
The Wildcats won the No. 1 and 3 doubles matches to earn the opening point for the first time this season. Brittiny Moore and Ashley Tanner pulled out a 9-8 win over Anna Lambert and Lindsey Newman at No. 1 to clinch the point after Carly Lloyd and Thais Kurer earned an 8-4 decision over Gabrielle Weissmann and Nicole Nakaoka.
In singles play, the Wildcats would manage to secure only a single point, which came after Kurer recorded a 6-1 first set win over Weissmann, who retired from the match.
