C.J. Tuckett named to running backs watch list

Weber State senior running back C.J. Tuckett has been named to the 2012 College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) Watch list for running backs. Tuckett is one of 41 running backs in nation in FCS football named to the list and is one of four running backs in the new Big Sky Conference on the watch list.
Tuckett had a breakout season for the Wildcats as a junior last year, particularly coming with an incredible final two games of the year. After nine games last season he had 197 rushing yards and two touchdowns. In the final two games he totaled 465 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. He had a career-high 254 yards and three touchdowns in WSU's 34-31 win over Northern Arizona on Nov. 12. The 254 yards is tied for the fifth most in WSU history. In that game he finished with 407 all-purpose yards, the most in WSU history and the second most in Big Sky Conference history. The next game he had 211 yards and a WSU school record five touchdowns in leading Weber State to a 48-33 win at Portland State.
For the season Tuckett finished with 84 carries for 662 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was fifth in the Big Sky in rushing at 60.2 yards per game and was also fifth in scoring.
In his three seasons with the Wildcats Tuckett has appeared in 25 career games and has 88 rushing attempts for 674 yards and 10 touchdowns. Entering this season he needs 326 more rushing yards to become the 27th player in Weber State history to reach 1,000 career rushing yards.
