A late 20-1 Northern Colorado run boosted the Bears to a 65-47 win over the Weber State women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats had two players in double digits, but it was not enough to overcome Lauren Oosdyke and the Bears. Oosdyke finished with a game-high 22 points while Jalen Carpenter finished with 14 points and Kalie Matthews added 13 for the Wildcats.

Matthews was two rebounds away from her second double-double in as many games. Her eight boards led the Wildcats. Oosdyke also led the game in rebounds with nine.

Oosdyke continued her hot play, coming off of her Big Sky Conference Player of the Week performance a week ago.

Northern Colorado dominated in the paint, outrebounding Weber State, 42-26, and outscoring the Cats in the paint, 44-28.

Second chances also killed the Wildcats. They gave up 20 second-chance points to the Bears while only scoring six in the same category.

The Wildcats had one of their best shooting halves of the season, shooting 38.5 percent in the first half. Trailing by only two points at halftime, the Cats hung with the third-place Bears through most of the second half.

With just over ten minutes left in the game, the Wildcats went cold while the Bears caught fire. Over the next six and a half minutes, the Bears went on a 20-1 run to run away with the game.

Weber State took care of the ball better, turning it over 18 times to the Bears' 20 turnovers. The Wildcats' defense continued to improve, forcing those 20 turnovers. The Cats also did not allow a three-pointer in the game, but they also only made one.

The Wildcats will hit the hardwood only once next week, at Southern Utah on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
