OGDEN – Weber State knocked down a season-high 12 three-pointers in route to a 65-59 win over Idaho State Monday night at the Dee Events Center. With the win the 'Cats improve to 8-6 overall and 5-1 in Big Sky play.

Idaho State jumped out to a quick 7-2 lead and led again at 15-12 midway through the first half. Weber State then responded with a 10-0 run over the next five minutes and would never trail again. The 'Cats led 26-22 at halftime.

The Wildcats took a 12-point lead at 53-41 with 6:26 to play but Idaho State rallied back and cut the lead to two points with 46 seconds remaining. The Wildcats made four free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

“I thought we played hard and defended well most of the game and I was real proud of our effort tonight,” said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. “Idaho State is a really good basketball team that is really well coached. We knew they would make a run but I thought we showed a lot of composure at the end.”

Both teams shot 40 percent from the field but the Wildcats were 12-25 from the three-point line, including 8-12 from beyond the arc in the second half. The 'Cats also outrebounded ISU 38-27.

Davion Berry led the Wildcats with 23 points, to go along with six assists and five rebounds. Senior Jordan Richardson added a season-high 18 points and knocked down four three-pointers. Royce Williams made three three-pointers off the bench for nine points.

Sophomore Joel Bolomboy had seven points and pulled down a season-high 16 rebounds. He continues to lead the Big Sky in rebounding at 10.0 per game. Kyle Tresnak tied his career-high with 11 rebounds.

The Wildcats have now won 22 straight Big Sky regular season home games and will continue their four-game homestand hosting Montana State Thursday at 7 p.m.
