OGDEN – The Weber State men's basketball team bounced back with a 74-49 win over Presentation College Monday night in the home opener. After a sluggish first half, the Wildcats responded with a strong half to pick up their first win of the season.

WSU led by just four points at halftime over Presentation, an NAIA school out of Aberdeen, S.D. The lead was cut to just three points early in the second half but the Wildcats responded with a 9-1 run and never looked back. They built their lead to as many as 26 in the second half.

“I thought our team did a good job in the second half,” said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. “Coming off the game we had on Friday, I thought we were a little tight and frantic in the first half tonight. I thought in the second half they settled down and played really well in the second half and looked like the team we want to be.”

Weber State shot 45 percent from the field and held the Saints to 29 percent shooting. The Wildcats also outrebounded Presentation 46-33 and had 13 assists and seven steals. WSU was also 20-of-23 from the free throw line.

Four Wildcats scored in double figures led by junior Joel Bolomboy who picked up a double-double, finishing with 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting. He also grabbed 15 rebounds and recorded five blocked shots, tying his career high.

Kyndahl Hill had his first career double-double, finishing with 11 points and a career-high 10 rebounds. Jeremy Senglin had 16 points and Chris Golden finished with 10 points. Senior James Hajek had eight points off the bench.

The Wildcats will now head to the U.S. Virgin Islands where they will play three games beginning in the Paradise Jam Tournament. WSU will open the tournament against Illinois State Friday night at 7 p.m. Mountain time.
