GREELEY, Colo. -- A big second half lifted Northern Colorado to a 71-57 win over Weber State Saturday night at the Bank of Colorado Arena. The loss dropped Weber State to 9-12 overall and 4-6 in Big Sky Conference play.

Weber State jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead but the Bears rallied back with a 22-7 run and led by five with eight minutes left in the first half. The score was tied 30-30 at halftime but the second half was a different story. The Bears opened the half on a 27-9 run in the first 10 minutes and never looked back. They led by as many as 18 points in the second half.

“We had good energy in the first half but it felt like we hit a bit of a wall in the second half,” said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. “Northern Colorado is a good veteran team and they played really fast and we couldn't keep up with them in the second half.”

Northern Colorado shot 47 percent from the field for the game and shot 59 percent in the second half. Weber State finished the game shooting 41 percent from the field but just 29 percent from the 3-point line.

WSU had its lowest free throw percentage of the season, finishing 14-of-24 from the line for 58 percent. UNC also outrebounded the Wildcats 34-33.

Weber State was led by Joel Bolomboy who finished with 13 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds. Jeremy Senglin and Kyndahl Hill each added 10 points.

Northern Colorado (11-9, 6-3) had five players in double figures.

Weber State will be back on the road next Saturday to take on Big Sky rival Idaho State in Pocatello.
