'Cats take down Seattle, fall to Boise State

Weber State University women's tennis team traveled to the Boise, Idaho and split the weekend defeating Seattle 5-2 and falling to Boise State 5-2.
Against Seattle the Wildcats claimed the doubles point. Agata Bachneck and Kristi Elmer defeated Kelli Woodman and Michelle Lui 6-3 in the No. 1 doubles spot. Weber State's Megan Rindlisbacher and Emily Tanner defeated Sari Kwee and Kristen James 6-4.
The Wildcats also stepped up big in singles play. Bachaneck defeated Woodman 6-1, 7-6 (7-2) in the No. 1 singles spot. Romy Dodd-Stephens defeated Barbara Carey 6-7 (2-7), 6-2, 6-4. Emily Tanner and Devi Hasan also picked up victories against Seattle. The combined efforts from the Wildcats and the doubles point gave Weber State the 5-2 victory over Seattle.
"We got off  to a good start with wins on number 1 and 3 doubles that got us going in the right direction," Head Coach Jonas Ehrlin said. "We had lots of close matches in singles but converted our opportunities and got four out of six."
Weber State couldn't pull together for a victory against Boise State. The team of Dominique Beauvais and Romy Dodd-Stephens defeated Ari Paules Aldrey and Megan LaLone 6-4 in the doubles round. Â Bachanek defeated Teal Vosburgh 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (11-9) in the No. 1 singles spot. Elmer defeated Boise State's Milena Toseva 6-4, 6-1 in the No. 2 singles spots. Those two victories earned the Wildcats two points but it wasn't enough to claim the overall team victory.
The Wildcats are now 2-2 on the season. Weber State will host Idaho State Wednesday Feb. 11 before hosting Portland State Sunday March 1.Â
