OGDEN -- Chris Golden and Kyndahl Hill both posted career-highs as Weber State beat Idaho State 61-57 Saturday night at the Dee Events Center.

With the win the 'Cats remain in eighth place in the league standings at 7-9 in conference play. WSU is one game behind Portland State and Idaho and one game ahead of Southern Utah with two games remaining. The top eight teams in the league standings will advance to the conference tournament.

Golden finished with 24 points and knocked down six 3-pointers to lead the Wildcats. He also had a career-high seven rebounds and added two steals.

Hill finished with 17 points and pulled down six rebounds. He knocked down three 3-pointers and had two blocked shots.

The Wildcats held a 29-23 lead at halftime but Idaho State started the half on a 13-4 run to regain the lead. There were 13 lead changes and eight ties in the game that went down to the wire.

With Idaho State leading by three points with 2:12 to play, Golden knocked down a 3-pointer to tie the game at 56-56. He made a layup on the next possession to give the Wildcats a two-point lead. The 'Cats led again by two with 15 seconds when Idaho State missed a 3-pointer that would have given the Bengals the lead. Two free throws in the final two seconds sealed the win for Weber State. The 'Cats ended the game on an 8-1 run.

“We knew it was going to be a tough game and it was, but we were able to find a way,” said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. “I”m really proud of our effort and toughness. We played really well together and Chris and Kyndahl really stepped up.”

Both teams shot 42 percent from the field and the Wildcats were 10-of-25 from 3-point land. WSU also outrebounded the Wildcats 37-29. The 'Cats also had eight blocked shots, tied for a season-high.

The Wildcats will finish the regular season with two home games next week, hosting Idaho Thursday and Eastern Washington Saturday.
