Weber State football head coach Jay Hill has announced two promotions on the Wildcat coaching staff. Hill has named Fesi Sitake the new Offensive Coordinator for the Wildcats and named Jason Kaufusi as the Defensive Coordinator.

“Fesi and Jason are both terrific coaches and we are very fortunate to have them at Weber State,” Hill said. “They are both highly sought after coaches and bring a lot of passion, energy and knowledge to our staff . They will do a great job with our play calling and both are going to be stars in this profession.”

Sitake has spent the past two seasons as the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach for the Wildcats. He has coached All-Conference players Shaydon Kehano and Cameron Livingston in his two seasons at Weber State.

Sitake joined coach Hill's staff at Weber State in December 2013 after spending three seasons coaching at his alma mater, Southern Utah. He was a two-time Great West All-Conference performer for the Thunderbirds and finished his career as one of the top wide receivers in SUU history.

He began his coaching career in 2011 at SUU as a student assistant coach. He then coached two seasons as the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator. He was part of the Southern Utah team that finished 8-5 in 2013 and advanced to the FCS Playoffs for the first time in school history.

Sitake is a native of Sandy, Utah. He and his wife Holly are the parents of two children, Sefesi and Cayson.

Jason Kaufusi has spent four years as an assistant coach at Weber State. He spent the past two seasons coaching the defensive ends for the Wildcats. Last season he helped guide the Wildcat defense to first in the Big Sky in total defense.

Kaufusi returned to Weber State to join coach Hill's staff in December 2013. He spent two seasons (2010, 2011) as an assistant coach at Weber State under Ron McBride.

He has also spent time as a defensive graduate assistant and football academic advisor at BYU. Prior to that he was an administrative assistant at the University of Utah under Kyle Whittingham. He also spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Cottonwood High School.

A native of Salt Lake City, Kaufusi played college football at the University of Utah for coach McBride. He was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Year and twice earned All-Conference honors as a defensive end.
