OGDEN – Weber State honored its three seniors before the game, Brittney Dunbar, Tinisha Toussaint and Regina Okoye. The Wildcats sent the seniors off with bang ending its regular season by taking down Eastern Washington 80-74.

"We've had a terrific season, but we have to get them on the bus to the tournament," WSU head coach Bethann Ord said. "It's 0-0 now for everyone. The only thing I'm worried about is that first game, and what we're going to do."

Weber State started the game off strong with a 10-4 lead and by the end of the first quarter had a 23-14 lead over Eastern Washington.

With two minutes left in the first half the Wildcats had a 14 point lead but Eastern Washington went on 6-0 run to end the half. WSU still had a 37-29 lead going into halftime.

The Eagles came out of half time going on a 6-0 run but the Wildcats answered with a 7-0 run. Weber State managed a 61-51 lead at the end of the fourth quarter.

With six minutes left in the game Eastern Washington went on a 9-0 run while the Wildcats had been on a three minute scoring drought.  The Wildcats broke the drought with a bucket by Dunbar but then went on another three minute scoring drought but the Eagles struggled to take advantage of it going only 2-12 from the field. Both teams struggled finding points in the fourth quarter.  Weber State held out and pulled off an 84-70 victory.

Weber State had many stand out athletes having four score in double figures. Kailie Quinn and Deeshyra Thomas each put up 19 points for the game high. Quinn had five made three-pointers and four assists.
Dunbar had a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Dunbar also had five assists and two steals. Emily Drake had 14 points and nine rebounds for WSU.

The Wildcats shot 49 percent from the field, 36 percent from the three and 81 percent from the free throw line. The Eagles shot 35 percent from the field, 31 percent from the three and 72 percent from the free throw line. Weber State had one of its best rebounding nights of the season pulling down 41 boards but EWU still outrebounded them with 43. Weber State also had 19 turnovers to Eastern Washington's 12.

The Wildcats had the lead for 39 out of 40 minutes of the game.

Weber State finished the regular season with a 19-10 overall record and an 11-7 Big Sky Conference record. The Wildcats have earned a No. 6 seed going into the Big Sky Conference Championships. They will take on Portland State in the first round of the conference tournament on Monday, March 7 at 9:05 p.m.

"I'm so proud of the way they stepped up," Ord said. "Everyone really did such a great job. Ending on a positive note going into the conference tournament is really good. It gives them confidence. This will give us a little momentum going in.
