Weber State announces 2016-17 schedule

OGDEN – After having one of the most successful seasons in school history with a record breaking 23 wins, the Weber State women's basketball team hopes to carry the momentum into the upcoming season.
The Wildcats have announced the 2016-17 schedule which includes over 11 non-conference games, highlighted by a home match with Portland, a tournament over Thanksgiving and a few road games against in-state rivals University of Utah, Utah Valley and BYU.
Weber State will open the regular season on Nov. 11 against California Miramar University at the Dee Events Center, the first of five non-conference home games. The Wildcats will also host Westminster (Nov. 22), Portland (Dec. 3), Cal State Northridge (Dec. 9), and Fresno State (Dec. 19).
Besides the in-state rival road games the Wildcats will also play at Air Force in the preseason. They Wildcats will participate in the Florida International Tournament over Thanksgiving, the opponents and game times are to be announced.
Weber State will begin its 18-game Big Sky Conference season on Dec. 29, 2016 with three home games starting with Montana State and Montana. The first Big Sky road game of the season will be Jan. 12 against Idaho. The 'Cats will conclude the conference season on March 3 at Montana State before going to the Big Sky Tournament where all 12 Big Sky women's teams will participate in the championship tournament.
WSU will also host Montana Western in an exhibition game on Nov. 7.
