Weber State Falls to top-seeded Idaho in Big Sky Tournament second round

The Wildcats end the 2025-26 season with an overall record of 11-22.
BOISE, Idaho - Weber State women's basketball dropped a 66-52 decision to the top-seeded Idaho Vandals in the second round of the Big Sky Tournament.Â
The first quarter saw a back-and-forth battle, with the Wildcats and Vandals trading baskets and keeping the score competitive. The game was tied twice, at 7-7 and again at 12-12. However, the Vandals managed to pull ahead just before the end of the quarter, using a successful free throw and a jumper in the final minute to take a 14-12 lead.
Idaho started to take control in the second quarter. The Vandals went on an early 8-0 run to establish a 22-15 lead, which they then extended to 27-17 with a subsequent 5-0 run. Idaho closed out the quarter with six straight points, heading into halftime with a 33-19 advantage.
The Vandals outscored the Wildcats 22-9 in the second quarter. At the half, Weber State was shooting 30.8 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from beyond the arc.
The Vandals maintained their lead throughout the third quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 18-12. This gave Idaho a 54-33 advantage heading into the final frame.
The Wildcats narrowed the gap to 13 points early in the fourth quarter after hitting consecutive 3-pointers. Though Weber State managed a late scoring run and outscored the Vandals 19-12, Idaho ultimately secured the victory.
