Wildcats fall 83-71 at Fresno State

Weber State lost its first true road game of the season as the Wildcats fell 83-71 at Fresno State Thursday night.
The Bulldogs never trailed en route to the win over the Wildcats. Weber State shot 54 percent rom the field but committed 21 turnovers.
Fresno State jumped out to an early 20-4 lead less than seven minutes into the game and never looked back. The Wildcats were never closer than eight points the rest of the half as Fresno State led 44-30 at halftime.
FSU led by as many as 25 points and the Wildcats never got closer than 11 points in the second half.
Weber State outshot the Bulldogs, with 54 percent shooting. The 'Cats were also 10-of-20 from 3-point range. Fresno State scored 22 points off turnovers and the Wildcats were also outscored 46-22 in paints in the point.
Brekkott Chapman led the Wildcats with 21 points and grabbed a career-high eight rebounds. He also knocked down four 3-pointers and dished out two assists.
Zach Braxton added 14 points with five rebounds and Ryan Richardson had 10 points and made two 3-pointers.
The loss drops the Wildcats to 4-3 on the season. WSU will play two in-state games next week, playing at Utah Valley on Wednesday and taking on BYU on Saturday. The game with the Cougars will be part of the Beehive Classic at the Vivint SmartHome Arena in Salt Lake City.
