OGDEN - Sometimes you just have to find a way. That's what the seventh-ranked Weber State football team did Saturday afternoon as the Wildcats scored 17 unanswered points to defeat Montana State 34-24 at Stewart Stadium.

The win moves the Wildcats to 5-2 on the season and 3-1 in Big Sky play.

Montana State jumped out to a 10-0 lead before Kaden Jenks had an eight-yard run to make it 10-7. The Bobcats then led 17-7 before Treshawn Garrett's first of three one-yard touchdown runs made it 17-14 MSU at halftime.

The Wildcats tied the game early in the third quarter on a Trey Tuttle 35-yard field goal, but MSU responded with a 27-yard interception return for a touchdown by Greg Filer that made it 24-17 midway through the third quarter.

Weber State scored 17-straight points, with two Garrett touchdowns and a 22-yard Tuttle field goal and the defense held off the Bobcats to secure the win.

The Wildcats finished with 373 yards of total offense, the second-most in a game this season. WSU had 186 yards passing and 187 yards rushing. Weber State also held Montana State to 221 yards on the day, with just 53 yards passing.

The Wildcat defense came up with two interceptions with Jordan Preator and Keilan Benjamin both getting picks that set up Wildcat touchdowns.

Individually, Jake Constantine was 16 of 27 for 176 yards. Kaden Jenks was 2 of 4 for 10 yards before leaving with an injury.

On the ground, freshman Josh Davis had 11 carries for 96 yards and Garrett finished with 21 carries for 80 yards and the three one-yard touchdowns. He was also the top receiver with four catches for 34 yards.

Darryl Denby also had four catches for 29 yards and moved past 100 career receptions, the 27th player in Weber State history to reach that milestone.

The win is Weber State's seventh-straight home win, tied for the second-longest streak in school history. The Wildcats have also won 10 of their last 11 and 16 of their last 18 games at Stewart Stadium.

Now the Wildcats close out the regular season with three of four games on the road, starting next Saturday, Oct. 27, at North Dakota. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Mountain time.
