Game notes: Wildcats host Maine in FCS Quarterfinals

THE GAME
• Weber State football enters the FCS Quarterfinals for the second-straight season as the Wildcats host the University of Maine Black Bears Friday night at Stewart Stadium.Â
• Friday's game will kickoff at 6 p.m. and will be televised across the nation on ESPN2 with Roy Philpott, Tom Ramsey and Roddy Jones calling the action.
• Radio broadcast will be on 1430 KLO and kloradio.com with Steve Klauke and former Wildcat head coach and athletic director Jerry Graybeal on the call.Â

OPENING DRIVEÂ
• Weber State is competing in the playoffs for the third straight year and the seventh time in its history. The Wildcats earned the No. 2 seed in the playoffs, the first time the team has ever been seeded in the playoffs. Â
• The 'Cats opened the playoffs with a 48-23 home win over Southeast Missouri Saturday.
• Weber State is 10-2 overall and have won seven straight games.
• The Wildcats won back-to-back Big Sky Conference titles for the first time in school history, finishing with a 7-1 conference record. Â
• Weber State had 19 players earn Big Sky All-Conference honors, including a school-record 13 players named to the first team.Â
• Maine is 9-3 on the season at won the CAA title with a 7-1 record. The Black Bears are 6-0 against nationally ranked teams this season.Â
• Head coach Jay Hill is in his fifth season as head coach of the Wildcats. He has a combined record of 36-25 overall and is 27-13 in Big Sky games.Â
• The Black Bears are coached by Joe Harasymiak.Â
• The Wildcats have won nine straight home games and 12 of their last 13 at home.
• The two teams boast two of the top defenses in the nation.Â
• Both teams are looking to qualify for the FCS semifinals for the first time ever. Â
• This is the first meeting ever between the two schools and the third game ever for the Wildcats against a team from the CAA.Â
