Weber State signs 20 for 2018 football signing class

OGDEN - Weber State football and head coach Jay Hill have announced the addition of 20 players to join the Wildcat program as part of National Signing Day Wednesday.Â
The new signing class includes 18 high school players with two junior college transfers. The class is made up of nine players from the state of Utah, five from California, two from Arizona, two from Washington, one from Colorado and one from Idaho. The group includes 11 offensive players and nine defensive players.Â
"We are really excited about this year's class and feel like it's one of the best we've had here," Hill said. "We signed some really top-notch players that we are really high on and we got the players we wanted. I'm really pleased with this group and I'm excited to see what they can become here at Weber State." Â
Weber State is coming off a record-setting season in 2017 in which the Wildcats won a school-record 11 games, won the Big Sky Conference title, won two games in the FCS Playoffs and finished the season ranked fifth in the nation, the highest ranking in school history. The 2018 season begins Aug. 30 at Utah with the first home game set for Sept. 15 against South Dakota. Â
