Weber State takes down Montana State 5-2

Weber State women's tennis defeated Montana State 5-2 this afternoon to stay on track for a spot in the Big Sky Tournament. Â
"This was another good win today," said head coach Mark Roberts. "Montana State competes very well and made us play a ton of balls. I am extremely happy with the girls attitudes and effort today. They are really working hard and improving every match we play."
To start things off, the Wildcats claimed the doubles point. Dominique Beauvais and Sara Parker defeated Angelina PIlippova and ANnie Walker in the No. 2 spot with a 6-2 score to start things off.
In the No. 1 spot, Caitlin Herb and Pei_Hsuan Kuo defeated Laura Mary and Linda Vink 7-6 to clinch the doubles point advantage for WSU. The No. 3 doubles spot was tied up at 6-6 and went unfinished.
Singles action started off with an impressive 6-0, 6-3 win by Beauvais in the No. 4 spot. She defeated Vink.
MSU picked up a win in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots to tie the overall match up at 2-2.
Kuo finished her match out strong with a 7-6, 6-4 win in the No. 1 spot over Philippova to take back the match advantage.
To clinch the match, Morgan Dickason defeated Sarah Cheverie 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 5 spot. Lastly, to finish the entire match off with a win, McKenna Lloyd defeated Enni Zander 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
Weber State is now 10-8 overall on the season and are 5-2 in Big Sky Conference play. WSU is now on a two match winning streak and have won four of their last five matches.
