10/26/2019 5:06:00 PM | Women's Volleyball

OGDEN - Weber State volleyball took down Eastern Washington in four sets and is now on a four match winning streak.

How it happened: Weber State started things by jumping out to an 8-4 lead in the first set. Later in the set the Wildcats jumped to a 21-9 lead thanks in large part to a 10-2 run. Rylin Roberts had a big kill to take it to set point. An EWU error gave WSU the first set 25-11.

The Eagles got the jump on WSU with a 12-10 lead in the second set and Weber State never caught up and EWU took off for a 25-19 second set win.

In the third set, Eastern Washington took a 13-10 lead over Weber State. The Wildcats chipped away at the score, outscoring the Eagles just a couple points at a time to eventually tie the game up at 20-20. Aubrey Saunders-Adams had a kill, followed by two block assists to put WSU up 23-20.
Rylin Roberts rocked a kill to take the game to set point.

Weber State started the fourth set with a 9-0 run and pushed for a 12-3 lead. Roberts slammed down a kill to take WSU to set point and to end it all there was an Eagle error for the Wildcats 25-13 win.

Killing It: Dani Nay led WSU with 16 kills from 38 attacks with only three errors for a .342 percentage. Roberts and Megan Gneiting each had 12 kills to contribute to the Wildcat offense.

Ashlyn Power helped out the big killers with 45 assists.

Digging it: Power led WSU in digs with 13 on the night. Gneiting was close behind with 12. Helena Khouri and Katelyn Erwin added 11 each.

Doubling it: Weber State had three Wildcats with double-doubles. Power had her 11th on the year with 45 assists and 13 digs. Gneiting recorded 12 kills and 12 digs.

Notes to know: Weber State now advances to 15-6 overall on the season and advanced to a 6-4 Big Sky record.

Next Up: WSU will return home to host Southern Utah on Halloween and Northern Arizona on Nov. 2.
