Wildcats fall to Golden Bears

BERKELEY, CA– The Wildcats opened pre-season play with a hard-fought 5-0 loss at Edwards Stadium against the Pac-12 Cal Golden Bears.
In the 14th minute of play, Cal player Luca Deza found the back of the net against senior keeper, Nikki Pittman. The Golden Bears racked another point in the 18th minute when Abigail Kim slotted a ball across the box to forward Emma Westin, who finished the pass.
California found two additional goals, ending the first half at 4-0 for the Golden Bears. The fifth and final goal came in the 53rd minute of play.
Though the Wildcats weren't able to get on the scoreboard, they maintained almost half of the possession throughout the game.
The Weber State women's soccer team heads to Tempe, AZ next week to take on Arizona and Arizona State.
