Weber State spring football schedule released

The Big Sky Conference has announced the schedule for the 2021 spring football season which will feature a six-game conference-only schedule over an eight-week stretch between February and April.

Weber State will open the 2021 spring season at long-time rival Idaho State on February 27.

The Wildcats will then have back-to-back home games, hosting Montana State on March 6 and Northern Arizona on March 13.

All Big Sky teams will have a bye week on March 20.

WSU will play at Southern Utah on March 27, then return to Stewart Stadium to host Northern Colorado on April 3. The final regular-season game will be on April 10 at UC Davis.

All conference teams will also have a bye week on April 17. The 16-team NCAA FCS Playoffs will begin on April 24 with the national championship scheduled between May 14-16.

WSU will play Northern Arizona at home for the second-straight year and will return to UC Davis for the second-straight season. The other four games and locations were on the original eight-game 2020 conference schedule.

For the first time ever, Weber State was selected as the Big Sky preseason favorite in July, prior to the season being postponed to the spring.

The Wildcats are also ranked fourth in the nation in the STATS Perform Preseason poll, released in August.

Weber State has won three-straight Big Sky titles and advanced to the semifinals of the FCS Playoffs last season.

Head coach Jay Hill returns for his seventh season as head coach of the Wildcats and WSU had five players earn preseason All-America honors.
