Weber State falls 55-41 to Idaho State

OGDEN – Weber State women's basketball fell to Idaho State Thursday night 55-41.

How it happened: Weber State started the game out on a slow streak with ISU jumping out to a 12-2 lead. Later, WSU came through with a 6-0 run and trailed 14-11. The Wildcats ended up trailing 19-14 at the end of the first quarter.

Idaho State locked Weber State down in the second quarter only allowing the Wildcats to score five points the entire quarter. WSU trailed 34-19 at the half.

In the third quarter, Weber State held Idaho State to just two points for the first five minutes. The Wildcats went on a 12-2 run during that time to cut the score deficit down to just five. The Bengals took back control for the rest of the third quarter and pushed on for a 48-33.

Weber State outscored Idaho State 8-7 in the fourth quarter but it wasn't enough as the Bengals went on to take a 55-41 victory over WSU.

Leaders: Weber State was led by Liz Graves who had 13 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Graves also had four steals on the night. Daryn Hickok also had double figures in scoring with 10 points. Ciara James had a great night on the boards as well with 10 of her own.

Comparison: Weber State shot 30 percent from the field, 20 percent from the three and 53 percent from the free throw line. WSU ended the game with 35 total rebounds and 21 turnovers.

Idaho State shot 39 percent from the field, 19 percent from the three point line and 50 percent from the line. The Bengals ended the night with 35 total rebounds and 17 turnovers.

Notes to know: Weber State is now 3-22 overall on the season and 1-15 in Big Sky Conference play.

Up Next: Weber State will stay on the road and head down to Southern Utah to take on the Thunderbirds on Feb. 22.
