Wildcat women's tennis falls to Arizona

BOUNTIFUL, UT - Weber State women's tennis took on Arizona this evening in Bountiful, Utah and fell 6-1.
"We needed a little more belief to beat Arizona, but we fought hard," said head coach, RuthAnn Allen. "We can learn from this loss."
Arizona came away with the doubles point after picking up wins in the no. 2 and no. 3 spots. WSU duo Cali Fuller and Megan Lombardi fought hard against the Arizona's Abby Amos and Talya Zandberg in the no. 3 spot, but were unable to come away with the victory and lost 7-5. The no. 1 match went unfinished.
In singles play, the Rebels picked up five points in the no. 2, no. 3, no. 4, no. 5, and no. 6 spots. Yuuna Ukita was the only Wildcat to come away with a victory when she defeated Talya Zandberg 7-5, 6-2 in the no. 1 spot. The final score ended 6-1 for Arizona.
"Yuuna played a strong match and got a good win. We head on the road this weekend and this match will improve our team," said Allen.
Weber State (8-4 overall, 2-0 Big Sky) will head to Portland, Oregon to take on Portland State on March 13th, and Portland on March 15th.Â
