'Cats drop road game at SUU 77-72

CEDAR CITY - Southern Utah closed the game on a 6-0 run to defeat Weber State 77-72 Saturday afternoon in Cedar City, in the second of back-to-back games this weekend. 
 
SUU led by nine points at 63-54 with 5:35 to play when Weber State went on a 7-0 run to cut the lead to two with four minutes to play. The Wildcats took the lead at 72-71 with 1:19 to play. SUU made a layup with 47 seconds left and then sealed the win with four free throws in the final 12 seconds. 
 
Weber State shot 39 percent from the field and was 8 of 27 from 3-point range. WSU led the rebounding margin 36-35.  
 
Isiah Brown led the Wildcats with 26 points on 11 of 17 shooting. He also had six rebounds, two steals and one assist. 
 
Zahir Porter added 12 points with two 3-pointers. Dillon Jones had nine points and a team-high nine rebounds.  
 
WSU drops to 7-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play. The Wildcats continue their road trip with two games at the University of Idaho next Thursday and Saturday in Moscow.
