Revised Weber State spring football schedule released

OGDEN - The Big Sky Conference has announced a revamped six-game schedule for the 2021 spring football season.

Adjustments were made to the schedule after five schools opted out of the spring season, leaving eight conference schools participating.

The Wildcats will open the season with two road games. Weber State will take on Idaho State on February 27 in Pocatello, then play at Cal Poly on March 6.

The first home game will be on March 13 against UC Davis. Following a bye week, WSU will host Northern Arizona on March 27, then play at Southern Utah on April 3 in Cedar City.

The final regular season game will be a home game on April 10 against Idaho State at Stewart Stadium. Each Big Sky team will face a rival twice during the season, in the first and last games.

Weber State is not scheduled to play Eastern Washington or Idaho.

All conference teams will have a bye scheduled for April 17, with the 16-team NCAA FCS Playoffs scheduled to begin on April 24.

The Wildcats will begin practice for the season on January 29.

For the first time ever, Weber State was selected as the Big Sky preseason favorite in July, prior to the season being postponed to the spring. The Wildcats were ranked fourth in the nation in the STATS Perform Preseason poll in August.

Weber State has won three-straight Big Sky Conference titles and advanced to the semifinals of the FCS Playoffs last season, finishing 11-4 overall.

Head coach Jay Hill is back for his seventh season as head coach of the Wildcats and WSU has four players that have earned preseason All-America honors.

Information about attendance and tickets as well as kickoff times for the spring 2021 season will be announced at a later date.
