Women's Tennis Attends Utah Invitational

Salt Lake City, UT - Weber State women's tennis attended the Utah Invitational, October 1-3, at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center. The Utes hosted Weber State, New Mexico, and Utah State for the invite.
On day one of the Utah Invite, Yuuna Ukita and Ana Morett Salas defeated Gabrielle Dekkers and Annaliese County (USU) in doubles play, 8-6. Megan Davies and Sicely Ferreira also picked up an 8-4 win over the Aggies Brooke Demerath and Lisa Kung.
In singles play, Patty Kuo took the win over Utah's Katya Hersh, 6-2, 6-3. Ana Morett Salas also defeated her opponent Lindsay Hung, 6-3, 6-1.
On day two of the Utah Invite, Ana Morett Salas and Sicely Ferreira picked up the only two wins for Weber in singles play against UNM.
The Weber State women's tennis team finished off the weekend at the Utah Invite by winning four matches on day three. In doubles play, Yunna Ukita and Ana Morett Salas took the upper hand 8-7(5) against UNM's Yue Lin Chen and Myu Kageyama. Into singles play, Patty Kuo beat USU's Gabrielle Dekkers, 6-3, 7-6(5). Megan Davies took the upper hand against Carolina Millan, 6-4, 6-4, and Megan Lombardi had an impressive win 6-1, 6-0 against Zeynep Ozturk.
"The Ute Invite gave us some good opportunities against solid players," said head coach RuthAnn Allen. "Ana Morett played with a lot of energy and had a solid weekend."
Next up, the Wildcats head to the UNLV ITA Regional Tournament October 12 - 17.
