Weber State Volleyball will try to extend its postseason success on Tuesday night when they face off against the UTEP Miners in El Paso.

The Wildcats are currently in the midst of a postseason run that ties the deepest in program history, while the Miners are having what many consider to be their best season ever. A trip to the National Invitational Volleyball Championship semi-final is on the line on Tuesday night, and both teams are looking to prolong these historic runs of play.

WEBER STATE

-WSU is 5-2 in national postseason play during Jeremiah Larsen's tenure in Ogden. That record includes a trip to the 2019 NIVC quarterfinal, and a win against Bowling Green in the NCAA tournament last season.
-The Wildcats are led on offense by 2020 Big Sky Conference MVP and AVCA All-American Rylin Adams and 2021 Big Sky Conference MVP Dani Nay, who are averaging 3.84 and 3.36 kills per set, respectively.
-Sam Schiess leads the Big Sky Conference in hitting percentage at .340%.
-Ashlyn Power has played in more sets in her career than any other player in Big Sky history (535) and has the most career assists in the rally scoring era than any other player in conference history (5,645).
-Makayla Sorensen is second in the Big Sky in total digs (488) and in digs per set (4.24).
-Nay is currently third in the nation in service aces (66), and sixth in the NCAA in aces per set (.59/set).
-As a team, the Wildcats are fifth in the country in aces per set (2.04/set), and third in total aces (229).

UTEP

-The Miners have a 7-4 lead in the overall series between the two schools but lost the last matchup in five sets in 2008.
-With an 8-4 conference record, UTEP finished second in Conference USA's West Division.
-As a team, the Miners hit .280% on the season which was second best in Conference USA.
-UTEP averaged 1.71 aces per set which ranks them second in the conference.
-Kenidy Howard leads the Miners in hitting with a scorching .397%.
