'Cats fall 80-75 to Montana in Big Sky Quarterfinals

BOISE, Idaho - Weber State saw its season come to a heart-breaking end as the Wildcats fell 80-75 to Montana Thursday night in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky Tournament in Boise.Â
Montana built a big lead late in the game before a feverish Weber State rally but it wasn't enough in the end. The Grizzlies shot 61 percent from the field, including 65 percent in the second half.Â
The Wildcats closed the first half on a 10-6 run, including two 3-pointers from Cody Carlson to tie the game 34-34 at halftime.
Montana started the second half on a 14-4 run and took a 46-38 lead six minutes into the second half. The Griz took their largest lead at 16 points with 6:04 to play after an 11-2 run.Â
Montana led by 13 with 2:49 top play when Weber State went on a furious run and cut the lead to one final possession.Â
The Grizzlies finished the game shooting 61.5 percent, the best percentage by a Wildcat opponent all season long. Weber State shot 43 percent and was 7 of 23 from 3-point range. Montana had 19 turnovers.Â
Cody Carlson and Seikou Sisoho Jawara each had 18 points for the Wildcats. Carlson was 5 of 9 from the field and had four rebounds, while Sisoho Jawara had four rebounds and four steals.Â
Dillon Jones added 13 points off the bench and led the team in rebounding with six, along with three steals and three assists.Â
Isaiah Brown had 10 points with four rebounds and two assists.Â
"Tonight was a tough night and this one hurts tonight," said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. "I thought their speed and quickness bothered us a lot. It's a hard one to swallow but I'm proud of our guys for all they've had to deal with this year."
Weber State's season comes to an end with a 17-6 overall record.Â
