GREELEY, CO - The 'Cats came out swinging against the Eastern Washington Eagles in the first match of the Big Sky Conference Tournament. Weber State dominated Eastern Washington 3-0 to improve to 16-1.

"Eastern Washington is not your normal 8th seed," said head coach, Jeremiah Larsen. "They really made us work and that is good for us. We are looking forward to another battle with Northern Arizona."

In the first set, Weber State and Eastern Washington battled back and forth, both scoring points. However, towards the middle of the set, Weber State's Ashlyn Power began serving and widened the scoring gap. The Wildcats took the set 25-15 with a .263 hitting percentage and 16 kills.

The Wildcats showed poise going into the second set of the match. They continued to play with a calm intensity, and got ahead early in the second set. Eastern Washington didn't give up, however, and crawled their way back. The score was close halfway through the set, but Weber State never gave up the lead. The 'Cats and 'Eags fought until the very end of the set, and the Wildcats took the set point 25-21. Weber State improved in their hitting percentage, hitting a .319 in the second set with 20 kills.

Eastern Washington went up on Weber State in the third set, but not for long. The Wildcats crawled their way back, and halfway through the set, were up 15-10. After that point, Weber State began to dominate the Eagles, only letting them score two more points in the match. The Wildcats took the third set 25-12 to win the match and advance on to the next round of the Big Sky Tournament. The Wildcats had a .341 hitting percentage in the third set, and had 16 kills.

The Wildcats had a total of 52 kills and a .310 total hitting percentage in the match. They had three aces, five blocks, 46 assists, and 57 digs. Rylin Adams led the 'Cats in kills with 19, Makayla Sorensen had two aces, Sam Schiess had three blocks, Ashlyn Power had 39 assists, and Dani Nay led Weber State in digs with 16.
