Weber State won fourth straight Big Sky tittle in spring 2021.
Weber State football finished the season ranked eighth in the nation in the coaches poll and ninth in the media poll, following the unprecedented spring season.Â
The Wildcats finished eighth in the AFCA Coaches poll and ninth in the Stats Perform poll.Â
National champion Sam Houston was ranked first in both polls, followed by South Dakota State, James Madison, Delaware and North Dakota State. This is the third time in the last four years that Weber State finished the season as the highest ranked Big Sky team.
WSU has been ranked in the top 10 in the national polls every week since October 2018, a stretch of 33 straight polls.Â
The Wildcats finished the regular season with a perfect 5-0 record and won their fourth straight Big Sky title and the first outright conference title. The Wildcats became just the second team in Big Sky history to win four straight conference championships. WSU also advanced to the FCS Playoffs for the fifth straight season.Â
The Wildcats had 13 players earn All-Big Sky honors, including nine on the first team. Weber State has also had four players earn All-America honors. All players are expected to return for the 2021 season.Â
Head coach Jay Hill and the Wildcats now prepare for the fall season which will begin September 2 at Utah.Â
The home opener will be September 18 against James Madison, who finished the season ranked third in the nation.Â
Ticket information for the season will be announced soon.Â
