Weber State Duo Named to NFCA All-West Region Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Weber State's Mariah Ramirez and Lauren Hoe each received postseason honors on Friday as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its All-Region teams. The pair of Wildcats were each named to the NFCA All-West Region Third Team.

Ramirez posted a 12-7 record and a 3.23 ERA in the circle for the Wildcats this season.  The La Habra, Calif. native led the Wildcats in wins, ERA, innings pitched (104), and strikeouts (76) in 24 appearances. She was named the Big Sky Conference Pitcher of the Year.
 
Ramirez also made an impact with the bat for Weber State, hitting .344 with five home runs and 18 RBI, while posting a 1.079 OPS across 64 at bats. 

Hoe, the Big Sky Player of the Year, led the Wildcat offense during the year. She posted a .330 batting average and had a team-high 1.092 OPS on a .678 slugging percentage and a .414 on-base average. She led the team with 10 doubles, 10 home runs and 78 total bases, while scoring 25 runs and driving in 34 runs.

As the team's starting catcher, Ramirez also regularly handled the Weber State pitching staff that led the Big Sky Conference with a 3.95 team ERA.

Joining Ramirez and Hoe on the All-West Region third team from the Big Sky was Southern Utah's Kalena Shepherd, while Montana's Maygen McGrath was named to the All-Pacific Region third team.
