Weber State legend will be just the second Wildcat to ever compete at the Summer Olympics.

It will be Dame Time at the Olympic Games! Weber State legend Damian Lillard is one of 12 players officially named to the United States Men's Basketball Olympic team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The team was announced Monday by USA Basketball.

Lillard is just the second former Weber State athlete ever to compete in the Summer Olympics, joining former track All-American and Weber State Hall of Famer Lindsey Anderson who competed in the steeplechase in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Lillard was an All-American during his standout Wildcat career from 2008-12. He was a two-time Big Sky Conference MVP and a three-time all-conference first team selection. During the 2011-12 season, he finished second in the nation in scoring and became the first player in Big Sky history to earn All-America honors. He helped lead the Wildcats to two Big Sky titles under head coach Randy Rahe. Weber State retired Lillard's No. 1 jersey in 2017.

In his nine seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, Lillard has been named to the All-NBA team six times and is a six-time NBA All-Star. He was named the 2013 NBA Rookie of the Year.

Joining Lillard on Team USA for the Tokyo Olympics are: Bam Adebayo (Miami Heat), Bradley Beal (Washington Wizards), Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns), Kevin Durant (Brooklyn Nets), Jerami Grant (Detroit Pistons), Draymond Green (Golden State Warriors), Jrue Holiday (Milwaukee Bucks), Zach LaVine (Chicago Bulls), Kevin Love (Cleveland Cavaliers), Khris Middleton (Milwaukee Bucks) and Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics). The USA coaching staff is led by head coach Gregg Popovich (San Antonio Spurs) with assistant coaches Steve Kerr (Golden State Warriors), Lloyd Pierce and Jay Wright (Villanova University) and Jerry Colangelo serving as the USA Men's National Team managing director.

The rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be held July 23-Aug. 8, 2021 in Tokyo, Japan. Twelve nations will compete in the Olympic men's basketball competition that will be held at the Saitama Super Arena.

After opening training camp on July 6, the USA Men's National Team will tip off a five-game exhibition series in Las Vegas against Nigeria on July 10; followed by Australia on July 12; Argentina on July 13; Australia for a second time on July 16; and Spain on July 18.
