Wildcats Fall In Hard Fought Battle Against Aggies

Logan, UT - Weber State women's tennis (2-4 overall) was defeated by the Utah State Aggies this Saturday afternoon at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club in Logan, UT.

"Utah State did what they needed to do to beat us today," said head coach RuthAnn Allen. "We had some solid play at times, but didn't do a good job sustaining our play."

In doubles action, the Wildcats won matches in the No.1 and No. 3 positions. Sicely Ferreira and Megan Davies defeated the Aggies Carolina Millan and Zeynep Naz Ozturk, 6-2 and Yuuna Ukita and Megan Lombardi earned the win against Annaliese County and Gabrielle Dekkers, 7-5. The 'Cats headed into singles play with the 1-0 advantage over the Aggies.

The Wildcats earned their sole singles point when Sicely Ferreira took the upper hand against Brooke Demerath at the No. 6 position, 6-0, 6-3. The Aggies earned points on the remaining 5 courts. The final score ended 5-2 for the Aggies.
