Weber State Ends Weekend With 4-0 Win Over UTEP

Las Vegas, NV - WSU women's tennis wrapped up their three-match weekend at the Fertitta Tennis Complex with a 4-0 win against UTEP.
"I am very happy with the effort of the team," said head coach RuthAnn Allen.
"We stayed determined and focused on every court. We out competed UTEP and that is our goal."
WSU took two doubles matches to earn a 1-0 team lead and then the three required singles points.
Sicely Ferreira and Megan Davies defeated the Miners Kathleen Percegona and Carlotta Mencaglia, 6-2 on court 2. On court 3, Megan Lombardi and Yuuna Ukita secured the early advantage for the 'Cats with a 6-2 win over Eve Daniels and Lina Sachica.
Headed into doubles with the 1-0 lead, the 'Cats were able to take the 4-0 victory after earning the first three wins in singles play.
Sicely Ferreira on court 6 bested Laura Schmitz, 6-1, 6-1. Finishing second on court 2, Megan Davies took the upper hand against Elena Dibattista, 6-1, 6-2. Earning the Wildcats their fourth and final point of the day, Megan Lombardi on court 5 defeated the Miners Lina Sachica, 6-3, 6-4.
