It was a big week for NCAA West Region Track and Field this week and the Wildcats were spread across three meets for high levels of competition with just under a month until the Big Sky Championships. Coach Corbin Talley said of the performances, "we saw a number of strong performances, season bests, and PRs. The conditions were perfect, and we had a lot of guys step up to take advantage of the opportunity."

Mt. SAC Relays
The Mt. SAC Relays saw several strong performances from distance runners. Starting with the 3000-meter steeplechase with Tracen Warnick running an 8:41.04 to jump to number one in the Big Sky, and number seven in both the NCAA and NCAA West Division. His time also ranks number nine on the WSU all-time list. Bronson Winter competed in the open heats and ran 8:53.17 to finish twelfth for the meet.

The 10000-meter run saw similar strong performances in the invite with Christian Allen finishing seventh overall for the meet. His time of 28:26.35 is currently second for the Big Sky and 18th in the NCAA and 11 in the West Division. Coach Corbin Talley mentioned the grit that Christian showed during the race and said it should qualify Christian for the Regional Championships. Christian's time also improves on his number two mark on the WSU All-Time list, and he missed claiming the top spot by just .8 seconds. Dallin Leatham ran in the open heats and finished third overall with a time of 28:47.43 which is number three on the WSU All-Time list and ranks third in the Big Sky and 18 in the West Division and will likely qualify him for the Divisional rounds of the NCAA Championships.

Bryan Clay Invitational
Logan Anderson had nearly a two-minute PR in the 10000-meter run. Coach Talley emphasized the great progress that Logan has made this year. Logan's time of 29:37.80 puts him into the WSU All-Time at number 10.

Ty Davis and Wesley Kallgren each finished with top-15 times for the Big Sky in the 3000-meter steeple with times of 9:16.64 and 9:17.66 respectively.

In the 5000-meter Peter Visser ran 14:08.81 which ranks fifteenth in the Big Sky this season and moves Visser to number eight on the WSU All-Time list. His time also breaks the WSU Freshman record for the event. Talley said he's shown a lot of toughness for such a young runner.

Tracen Warnick bounced over after his strong performance in the Steeple at Mt. SAC to run in the 1500 at Bryan Clay where he ran a 3:42.11 which puts him at seventh in the Big Sky and number 33 in the NCAA West Division. Talley said that Warnick has run 5 All-Time marks in the past two and a half months. Those marks have come in the 3000m, Mile, 5000m, Steeple, and 1500m.

In the 100-meter dash Isaac Tillett ran 10.79 to rank twelfth in the Big Sky Conference this season.

In the 110-meter hurdles Cyrus Rindlisbacher finished 11th with a time of 14.58, Caleb Whitney finished 16th at 14.64, and Johnie Talamantes ran 15.73

In the 400-meter hurdles Rindlisbacher ran a 53.02 for another PR and a ninth-place finish and a number four ranking on the Big Sky's list this season.

Lachlan Burns improved on his season-best in the Pole Vault with a mark of 17' 0" and a first-place finish for the meet. His mark ranks second in the Big Sky and number 26 in the NCAA West Division, and 46 in the NCAA. This mark will likely get him into the NCAA Regionals.

Long Beach Invite
The Long Beach Invitational was highlighted by Cody Canard's third-place finish in the Javelin with a throw of 218' 5". That mark moves him onto the WSU All-Time list at number six and gives him a number three ranking for the Big Sky. Josh Trafny threw 202' 6" and finished eighth.

The Wildcats will be back in action next week down in Provo for the BYU Robison Invitational.
