NCAA West Preliminary Meet

The NCAA West Preliminaries took place in Fayetteville, Arkansas this weekend at the University of Arkansas.
Tracen Warnick led out a team of Wildcats in the 3000-meter Steeple Chase with at time of 8:43.43 which was just under three seconds short of qualifying for the NCAA Championship meet. Jamison Wilkes came 26 for the event at 8:57.51 making a large jump from his qualifying position, next was Bronson Winter at 9:02.67 and 34th, and not far behind was Freshman Peter Visser with his time of 9:04.08.
A pair of Wildcats competed in the 10K on Wednesday night with Christian Allen running a time of 29:17.91 and finishing 21st for the field. Dallin Leatham finished 41st at 30:18.13.
Christian Allen also qualified for the 5K.
There were a few athletes that competed in field events, including a pair in the javelin. Cody Canard threw 208' 4" for a number 22 finish. Josh Trafny finished 43rd with a throw of 189' 2".
In the Pole Vault, Lachlan Burns cleared a height of 17' 0.25" to match the number 15 height in the competition.
It was a great outdoor season for the Wildcats. Congratulations to all the athletes that worked so hard this season to improve and compete at their highest level.
