The Wildcats and Thunderbirds will play a six-game series from 2026-2031.

OGDEN - The in-state series with the Thunderbirds will continue. Weber State and Southern Utah have agreed to a six-game football series from 2026 to 2031.

The two in-state rivals have both been members of the Big Sky Conference since 2012, but SUU is leaving the Big Sky for the Western Athletic Conference, effective July 1, 2022.

The two schools will kickoff the 2026 season on September 5 in Cedar City, then play in Ogden in Week 3 of the 2027 season on September 18. The other two games in the series in Cedar City will be on September 16, 2028, and September 7, 2030, in Cedar City. The two teams will play at Stewart Stadium in Ogden on September 8, 2029, and September 6, 2031.

Weber State and Southern Utah have met 29 times over the years, in what has become known as the Beehive Bowl. The Wildcats hold a 21-8 series lead and have won the last five meetings, including a 62-0 win in Cedar City last November. Weber State was 7-4 against the Thunderbirds while SUU was in the Big Sky from 2012 to 2021.
