Noah Atagi, Eddie Heckard named preseason All-Americans

Both Wildcats were named to the Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America team.

Two Wildcats have earned preseason All-America honors. 

Weber State junior offensive lineman Noah Atagi and junior cornerback Eddie Heckard were both named to the 2022 Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America team. Atagi earned second team honors and Heckard was named to the third team. 

He is a two-time first-team All-Big Sky performer on the Wildcat offensive line, having earned the honor the last two seasons. He was also named to the Big Sky preseason all-conference team this year. 

The South Ogden native has played in 32 games during his Wildcat career. 

Heckard has earned All-Big Sky honors the last three seasons, including first-team honors in each of the last two years. 

The Las Vegas native has been a part of the WSU program since 2017 and has played in 35 games in his Wildcat career. He has five career interceptions and 23 pass breakups, which is the third-most in WSU history. He also ranks in a tie for sixth in career forced fumbles with six. He also has recorded 140 career tackles with 101 solo tackles and has nine tackles for loss.

Weber State opens practice for the 2022 season on August 3 and the season will kickoff on September 1 with a home game against Western Oregon. The Wildcats will have six home games this season.
