OGDEN, Utah – Weber State women's basketball announced its 2022-23 season non-conference schedule on Tuesday afternoon. The schedule is highlighted by a tournament in Providence, Rhode Island, and by the Wildcats hosting several in-state rivalry games in the Dee Events Center.

The Wildcats open the season on the road at Boise State on November 13 and follow that up by playing Omaha on the road. The home opener will be against the Utah Valley Wolverines on Saturday November 19.

Weber State will take off for the east coast for a tournament in Rhode Island between November 25-27. While back east, the 'Cats will test their talents against Bryant, Providence, and Hartford. WSU returns to Ogden for a two-game home stand against Utah State and Seattle to start the month of December, and will then wrap up the road portion of their out of conference schedule with away games at Tarleton State and old Big Sky Conference foe North Dakota.

To close out the non-conference schedule, Weber State welcomes two more in-state foes to the Purple Palace. Newly dubbed Utah Tech comes to Ogden on December 17, and the University of Utah makes its way north for the Wildcats' final non-conference game on December 20.

"Each year we try to put together a non-conference schedule that will challenge us in preparation for competitive Big Sky Conference play," head coach Velaida Harris noted of the team's out of conference slate. "This year we don't have many home games in non-conference, but four of our five home games put us up against in-state opponents. That's exciting! It will be fun for the fans, and it gives our players the opportunity to play in a great environment here at the Dee Events Center."

Weber State opens Big Sky Conference action on December 29 against Northern Colorado in Greeley. The Big Sky Conference home-opening series will be against Montana and Montana State on January 12 and January 14, and the Big Sky Conference tournament will be held in Boise, Idaho on March 4-8.

Hope and optimism abound in Ogden as the Wildcats are coming off of a season in which they saw significant and tangible improvement on the court. The squad won more than 10 games for the first time since 2017-18, and won its first game in the Big Sky Conference tournament game since 2017. In addition to seeing marked improvement in their record and play, the 'Cats are also returning the vast majority of their major contributors from last season.

Coach Harris and WSU are looking forward to a competitive 2022-23 schedule of games and are eager to keep building on a foundation that was laid last season. The entirety of the 2022-23 schedule can be found here.
