Weber State Volleyball Sweeps Northern Arizona

Ogden, UT – The Weber State volleyball team got back to their winning ways on Saturday afternoon after sweeping the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks 3-0 (25-23, 25-11, 25-20).
The Lumberjacks got out to a hot start in the first set and had a 20-14 lead before Weber State fought its way back into the set. The 'Cats scored on four of the next points, trailing by two. A bad set by the Lumberjacks and a service ace made by Dani Richins tied up the set 22-22. Weber State's offense kept their momentum and pulled ahead of the 'Jacks with a block made by Ashley Gneiting and Brielle Rueckert and a kill by Baylee Bodily. An attack error made by NAU closed out the frame with a 25-23 set victory for WSU.
Heading into the second set, Weber State proceeded to take a six-point lead, 8-2 over the 'Jacks. Not looking back and dominating set two the 'Cats pulled out a 25-11 win to take a 2-0 advantage in the match. Keeping it competitive in the third set, NAU trailed no more than three towards the end of the frame. The two squads exchanged points up to 23-20 before the Wildcats were able to put the match away with kills made by Bodily and Dani Richins. An attack error made by the Lumberjacks ended the match 25-20, 3-0.
Weber State had 45 kills and was led by Richins (12) and Bodily (12). Kate Standifird was on top in blocks (3), assists (37) and digs (18).
