Wildcats head to Logan to take on Utah State Friday night

Weber State and Utah State tipoff Friday at 6 p.m. in Logan.
• Weber State women's basketball continues its road trip to start the season with a road game at in-state opponent Utah State Friday night in Logan.
• Friday's game will tipoff at 6:00 p.m. from the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan. The game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network. Live stats available at WeberStateSports.com and the Weber State Wildcats app.
• Weber State is 0-3 on the season. The Wildcats have road losses at Utah Valley and BYU and are coming off a 76-47 loss at Boise State on Monday night.
• Through the first three games, senior Jadyn Matthews leads the Wildcats in scoring at 10.3 points per game and is grabbing 4.3 rebounds per game. Matthews is also shooting 46 percent from the field and is 5 of 10 from 3-point range. She is one of nine players returning for the Wildcats this season and was fifth in the Big Sky Conference in rebounding and 11th in scoring last season. She ranks fifth in WSU history in career rebounding and fifth in career rebounding average. She is also 17th in career scoring.
• New Wildcat transfer Kendra Parra lis averaging 8.0 points per game through the first three games. She is also 11 of 15 from the free throw line. Parra is one of seven new players with the Wildcats this season and transferred after two seasons at Metro State in Denver.
• Senior Daryn Hickok is another of the nine returning players and was named to the Big Sky preseason all-conference team. Hickok is a three-time All-Big Sky selection and was third in the Big Sky in scoring last season at 16.3 points, and 10th in rebounding at 6.4 per game. She has played in 105 career games and is 11th in career scoring and eighth in career scoring average.
• Weber State is under the direction of first year head coach Jenteal Jackson who was named the seventh head coach in WSU history in April. A Utah native and former in-state college player, she came to Weber State after spending the last two seasons as head coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. She played college basketball at BYU and Westminster.
• Utah State is 1-2 on the early season. They started the season with a 79-64 loss at Cal State Northridge and a 75-39 home loss to Big Sky member Eastern Washington. The Aggies are coming off a 62-60 win at Kansas City on Tuesday. Utah State was 4-26 overall and 1-17 in Mountain West play last season.
• This will be the 40th all-time meeting between the two in-state schools with Weber State holding a 23-16 all-time series lead. The Aggies have won the last five games, with WSU's last win in the series in 2006. Utah State beat Weber State 74-69 in Ogden last year.
• The Wildcats are playing their first seven games on the road.
• After Friday's game, the Wildcats will head to San Diego for two games at The Dana on Mission Bay Thanksgiving Tournament. Weber State will play host San Diego on Friday, November 24 and then take on UC Santa Barbara or UNLV on Saturday, November 24.
