'Cats head to San Diego for Thanksgiving weekend Tournament

Weber State will play at San Diego on Friday and play either UNLV or UC Santa Barbara on Saturday.
• Weber State women's basketball will spend Thanksgiving weekend in San Diego as the Wildcats will play two games at the Dana on Mission Bay Thanksgiving Tournament this Friday and Saturday.
• The tournament is being hosted by the University of San Diego at the Jenny Craig Pavilion in San Diego. The Wildcats will play the host Toreros on Friday in the first game. Tipoff at 2 p.m. Pacific time (3 p.m. Mountain time). The 'Cats will play either UNLV or UC Santa Barbara on Saturday in the second game in San Diego. All games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
• Weber State is 0-4 on the season. The Wildcats have road losses at Utah Valley, BYU, and Boise State and are coming off a 72-62 loss at Utah State last Friday.
• In Friday's game at Utah State, WSU junior transfer Kendra Parra had a career-high 22 points and knocked down three 3-pointers. Parra leads the Wildcats in scoring through four games at 11.5 points per game. She transferred to WSU this summer after two seasons at Metro State in Denver.
• Senior Daryn Hickok added a season-high 15 points in the game at Utah State and in the process, moved into the top 10 scoring in Weber State history. Hickok is now 10th in WSU history in career scoring with 1,446 points in 107 career games. She also has the 10th best scoring average at 13.5 points per game. She also ranks third in career free throws made. Hickok was named to the Big Sky Preseason All-Conference team this season.
• Senior Jadyn Matthews is another returning Wildcat and is second on the team this season at 9.3 points per game. She is also second in rebounding at 4.5 per game. Matthews has played in 115 career games at Weber State and ranks fifth in career rebounding and is 17th in career scoring. She was fifth in the Big Sky Conference in rebounding and 11th in scoring last season.
• Weber State is under the direction of first year head coach Jenteal Jackson who was named the seventh head coach in WSU history in April. A Utah native and former in-state college player, she came to Weber State after spending the last two seasons as head coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. She played college basketball at BYU and Westminster.
• The Wildcats return nine players off last year's team and added seven new players.
• WSU is 1-4 all-time against San Diego, with the last game coming in 2015. WSU is 2-1 against UC Santa Barbara with the last game in 2006, and is 1-3 all-time against UNLV with the last game in 2000.
• Weber State is playing its first seven games away from home. After the tournament this week, the Wildcats will play at Oregon State on Wednesday, Nov. 29. The first home game of the season will be on Dec. 6 against Nevada.
