'Cats drop road game at Oregon State

Weber State will play its first home game next Wednesday, December 6 against Nevada.
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Weber State faced another tough road game and played in front of another big crowd as the Wildcats fell 79-53 to Oregon State Wednesday in Corvallis.Â
The game started at 11 a.m. local time and more than 7,000 area elementary children attended. The total crowd was 8,454 on field trip day. Â
Oregon State got off to a fast start and led 30-9 after the first quarter. The Beavers were 11 of 13 from the field in the first quarter with five 3-pointers. The Wildcats were equal with OSU in the second and third quarters. The Beavers won the fourth quarter 21-16.Â
For the game, Oregon State shot 55 percent from the field and held the Wildcats to 28 percent shooting. The Beavers knocked down nine 3-pointers and won the rebounding margin 39-26. Oregon State also had 28 assists on 32 field goals.Â
Daryn Hickok and Jadyn Matthews each led the Wildcats with nine points. Hickok added four rebounds and three steals and Matthews had four rebounds and three assists.Â
Amelia Raidaveta and Kaiija Lesane each added eight points.Â
After playing the first seven games on the road, the Wildcats will finally play a home game next week. Weber State will host Nevada on Wednesday, December 6 at 6 p.m. at the Dee Events Center.Â
