Women's basketball back on the road at BYU Friday morning

Weber State will play its second game of the season Friday at 11 a.m. in Provo against BYU. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
• Weber State women's basketball returns to Utah County for the second game of the season this Friday morning when the Wildcats take on BYU in Provo.
• Friday's game will tipoff at 11 a.m. from the Marriott Center on the campus of BYU. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and the ESPN app. Live stats available at WeberStateSports.com and the Weber State Wildcats app.
• Weber State opened the season Monday night with a 56-55 loss at Utah Valley in Orem. The Wildcats led for much of the game before the Wolverines pulled away. Weber State outreobunded UVU 44-21.
• New Wildcat transfer Kendra Parra led Weber State with 13 points and had five rebounds. She was also 8 of 9 from the free throw line. Senior Jadyn Matthews had 12 points and had eight rebounds. Amelia Raidaveta had a career-high eight points and four rebounds.
• Weber State is under the direction of first year head coach Jenteal Jackson who was named the seventh head coach in WSU history in April. A Utah native and former in-state college player, she came to Weber State after spending the last two seasons as head coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. She played college basketball at BYU and Westminster.
• The Wildcats return nine players off last year's team, including senior Daryn Hickok who returns for her senior year and was named to the Big Sky preseason all-conference team. Hickok is a three-time All-Big Sky selection and was third in the Big Sky in scoring last season at 16.3 points, and 10th in rebounding at 6.4 per game. She has played in 104 career games and is 11th in career scoring and seventh in career scoring average. Also returning for the Wildcats is Matthews who was fifth in the conference in rebounding at 11th in scoring last season. She is fifth in WSU history in career rebounding and fifth in career rebounding average. She is also 17th in career scoring.
• Weber State welcomes seven new players to the roster, including five transfers. Kendra Parra (Metro State), Ashton Adamson (SLCC), Kennedy Eskelson (CSI), Margarita Satini (Westminster), and Sierra Davis (Charleston WV) all have joined the Wildcats this season as transfers to the program.
• The Wildcats will start the season with their first eight games away from home, including seven true road games.
• BYU is facing its second-straight Big Sky school. The Cougars opened the season with a 68-60 win at Big Sky member Montana State.
• This will be the 52nd all-time meeting between the two teams with BYU holding a 42-9 all-time series lead, but this is the first meeting since 2016. The Cougars have won the last seven games played. Weber State is 1-21 all-time in games in Provo.
• After Friday's game, the 'Cats hit the road at Boise State on Monday, November 13, then play another instate game at Utah State on Friday, November 17.
