'Cats drop road game at Air Force

Weber State will face nationally ranked Utah Thursday at 12 p.m. in Salt Lake City.
Weber State saw its three-game winning streak end with a 70-58 loss at Air Force Saturday afternoon.
The two teams were tied at 13 after the first quarter when Air Force dominated the second quarter 23-7 to take a 36-20 lead at halftime. The Falcons held WSU to just 1 of 6 shooting in the second quarter. Air Force led by as many as 24 points. WSU outscored the Falcons 20-12 in the fourth quarter.
Air Force shot 40 percent from the field, and held the Wildcats to 38 percent. WSU outrebounded the Falcons 38-28 but the Wildcats had 22 turnovers. Air Force also knocked down eight 3-pointers and had 11 steals.
Three Wildcats scored in double figures. Jadyn Mathews had 11 points with seven rebounds. Daryn Hickok had 11 points, six rebounds, and four steals. Kaiija Lesane added 1- points with three assists and three rebounds.
The game was the first of a four-game road trip for Weber State. The Wildcats will play their final road game of the non-conference season next Thursday, December 21 at nationally ranked Utah. Tipoff is at 12 p.m. at the Huntsman Center.
