Wildcats win second-straight with 77-67 win at Utah Tech

ST. GEORGE, Utah - Weber State won its second-straight game with a 77-67 win at Utah Tech Saturday afternoon at the Burns Arena.
The Trailblazers led 23-17 after the first quarter before two big quarters by the Wildcats to take control of the game. Weber State outscored Utah Tech 24-10 in the second quarter and 24-15 in the third quarter and led 65-48 after three quarters.
WSU shot 47 percent in the second quarter with four 3-pointers and shot 66 percent in the third quarter.
The lead was never less than nine points in the fourth quarter as the Wildcats claimed their first road win of the season.
It's also their second victory this week after a two-point win over Nevada on Wednesday.
For the game the Wildcats shot 48 percent from the field and held Utah Tech to 39 percent shooting. Weber State tied a season-high with eight 3-pointers and held the Trailblazers to 6 of 28 from 3-point range. The 'Cats also won the rebounding battle 40-27 and were 9 of 12 from the free throw line.
Daryn Hickcok had another big night for the Wildcats, with a season-high 25 points. She was 8 of 17 from the field and knocked down a career-high five 3-pointers. She also had six rebounds, three assists, and a steal in the win.
Jadyn Matthews tied her career-high with 21 points on 10 of 17 shooting. She also had five rebounds and four assists.
Amelia Raidaveta also posted a career-high with 13 points and had seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Weber State will be back home Tuesday night for another in-state matchup against Westminster College. Tipoff will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Dee Events Center.
