Wildcats back home to host Westminster Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Weber State had wins over Nevada and Utah Tech last week.

• Riding a two-game winning streak, the Weber State women's basketball team is back home to take on Westminster Tuesday night. The Wildcats and Griffins will tipoff at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday from the Dee Events Center. The game will be televised on ESPN+ and the ESPN app. Live stats available at WeberStateSports.com.

New Wildcat head coach Jenteal Jackson will be facing her alma mater and the school where she coached for 11 seasons in Tuesday's game. Jackson who was named the seventh head coach in WSU history in April. A Utah native and former in-state college player, she came to Weber State after spending the last two seasons as head coach at Westminster where she compiled a 34-21 record. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. She played college basketball at BYU and then played two seasons at Westminster from 2010-12. She was part of two Frontier Championship teams with the Griffins and also played three seasons of women's golf at Westminster and later was the head golf coach for two years. 

Weber State is 2-7 on the season and the 'Cats have won their last two games. Weber State started the season with seven games away from home but won two games last week, beating Nevada on Wednesday at home and winning 77-67 at Utah Tech last Saturday. In the win over the Trailblazers, WSU shot 48 percent from the field and tied for season-high eight 3-pointers. 

Wildcat senior Daryn Hickok led the Wildcats in Saturday's win with a season-high 25 points and a career-high five 3-pointers. She was 8 of 17 from the field and 5 of 9 from 3-point range. Hickok has scored in double figures in four of the last six games and now leads the Wildcats in scoring at 11.6 points per game, which is 11th in the Big Sky. She is also second on the team in rebounding and steals and third in assists. She was named to the Big Sky Preseason All-Conference team and earned All-Big Sky honors last year. She has played in 112 games in five seasons at Weber State and ranks second in career scoring. Saturday she became the seventh player in WSU history to reach 1,500 career points. 

Senior Jadyn Matthews tied her career-high with 21 points in Saturday's win. She was 10 of 17 from the field and also added five rebounds and four assists. Matthews is second on the team in scoring at 11.3 points per game and is third in rebounding at 4.7. She has played in 120 career games at Weber State, tied for the fifth-most in school history, and ranks fifth in career rebounding and 15th in career scoring. She was fifth in the Big Sky Conference in rebounding and 11th in scoring last season. 

Amelia Raidaveta also had a carer-high in Saturday's win as she finished with 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Raidaveta is averaging 7.1 points per game and leads the team in rebounding at 5.3 per game. 

Westminster is 2-6 overall on the season. Tuesday's game will be an exhibition game for the Griffins. It will be their second game against a Division I team as they lost 76-42 at Utah Valley. 

This will be the fifth ever meeting between the two schools and Weber State is 4-0 all-time, with all games played in Ogden. The two teams played in 2008, 2015, 2016, and last met in November 2017, a 64-58 Wildcat win. 

After Tuesday, the Wildcats hit the road at Air Force Saturday at 1 p.m. WSU will play at nationally-ranked Utah next week on December 21.
