Wildcats suffer 88-54 loss at Northern Colorado

Weber State returns home to host Montana State and Montana this week.
GREELEY, Colo. - Northern Colorado led wire to wire and dominated Weber State 88-54 late Monday night at Bank of Colorado Arena.
The Bears had an 11-0 run and jumped out to a quick 14-2 lead 7:09 into the game. UNC led by as many as 18 in the first half and held a 35-21 lead at halftime.
Northern Colorado scored the first eight points of the second half and Weber State was never closer than 18 points the rest of the way. The Bears led by as many as 36 late in the game before the 34 point win, their largest ever over Weber State.
Northern Colorado shot 60 percent from the field, including 67 percent in the second half. The Bears were 12 of 22 from 3-point range, including 9 of 13 in the second half.
Weber State shot 35 percent from the field and was just 3 of 23 from 3-point range, the fewest three-pointers in a game this season.
UNC outrebounded Weber State 42-31 and the 'Cats were just 11 of 24 from the free throw line.
Dillon Jones led Weber State with 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his 14th double-double of the season. Dyson Koehler added 10 points and Steven Verplancken had nine points and three assists.
WSU now sits at 12-12 overall and 7-4 in Big Sky play.
Monday's game was the last of a four-game road trip for Weber State. The Wildcats will return home for two home games later this week hosting Montana State on Thursday and Montana on Saturday.
