Caleb Whitney earns Conference Athlete of the Week

OGDEN, UT - Caleb Whitney has been selected as the Big Sky men's field athlete of the week after his impressive showing at BYU last week in the Robison Invitational. Caleb scored 7213 in the Decathlon where he finished top-three in seven out of ten events and was top-five in the remaining three.

Caleb's score ranks as the #3 all-time Weber State Decathlon total, and during competition he added to the record books in the 110m hurdles with his #8 time of 14.30. Caleb earned four PRs in total during the event with 134-04 in the discus and running 11.36 in the 100m dash.

Currently, Caleb sits first in the conference in the Decathlon (#27 in the NCAA, #20 in the West region), fourth in the 400m hurdles, sixth in the 110m hurdles, and seventh in the long jump.

Caleb is the defending Big Sky Conference champion in the Decathlon and continues to develop as an athlete in addition to being a strong leader for the team.

The Wildcats will be in action this week at the Bengal Invitational at Idaho State University to compete in the last meet of the regular season. Caleb and his teammates will look to improve their conference rankings as they prepare for championship season beginning on May 10 with the Big Sky Conference Championships at Norther Colorado University in Greeley, CO.
